 Bokuto : Wooden sword

 Hakama : Traditional Japanes skirt. Comprised of seven folds, each holding a specific signification. 5 in front, 2 in the back.

« Jun » : honesty
« Gi » : justice
« Rei » : etiquette
« Makoto » : sincerity
« Chugi » loyalty
« Meiyo » : honor

 Himo : Cords. « Hakama Himo » used to ajust and hold the hakama in place

 Juban : light vest usually wore underneath the montsuki.

 Keiko-gi : Training vest.

 Koshi ita : Hakama’s back rest.

 Montsuki : Large vest with ample sleeves bearing the Mon on the chest, the back and the sleeves. MON will be either the family emblem, the arms of the clan or the school.
