Basic techniques



- Nukitsuke : Cutting while drawing the sword.
There are 5 basic cuts of that type:
Yoko ichi monji
Katate kesagiri
Gyaku no kesa giri
Hiki mawashi
Hiki taoshi

- Furikaburi : raising the sword to cut.

- Kirioroshi : Cut the oponent in half, from head to groin.
There are 6 basic cuts of that type:
Morote kesagiri
Dogiri
Koshi guruma
Nadegiri
Somakuri
Makko

- Chiburi : Shake the blood from the blade.

- O-chiburi : Big circular motion, performed in the Seiza No Bu series.

- Yoko-chiburi : Small lateral movement, performed in the Eishin Ryu Batto-Ho series.

- Noto : Sheating the sword.

- Hayaosame :Special way of sheating the sword, performed in the Oku-iai series.
