Politeness, the Japanese way



- Domo arigatou gozaimashita

Litterally : « Thank you so much ! ». These words are usually spoken at the very beigning or at the very end of the class.

- Yoroshiku onegaishimasu

Litterally : «May I request a favor. » These words are usually spoken when asking an advice from the teacher.

- Otsukaresama deshita

Litterally : «You must be exhausted! » These words are usually spoken when underlining the tremendous amount of work done by someone.

- Shitsurei shimasu

Litterally : «Will you pardon me! » These words are usually spoken when asking for a leave or when asking for an information.
